In 2002, the Dalakan gold project was acquired in southern Mali by application under the Mining Act of Mali.
Dalakan is 240 km southeast of Bamako and is 25 km southeast of the 1 MM ounce Kalana gold mine (Avnel Gold).
Geological Highlights of the Dalakan Gold Project
Dalakan is on the northeast-northwest-trending faults within turbidites. In southern Mali (Morila deposit), the control structure is a northeast-trending cross structure within a northwest structural corridor within a turbidite sequence.
In 2004, the Company collected 1,817 soil samples and completed 3,879 m of reverse circulation drilling. Additional sampling and drilling is planned.
